PTG Global goes ice skating

ICE BREAKERS

Last Friday afternoon, Macquarie Ice Rink, North Ryde was stormed by a seriously dangerous force — PTG Global, on ice skates.

Our brave team rose to the challenge of moving the company forward — unfortunately the ground was (literally) slipping from beneath them.   Thankfully, PTG Global plays host to some closet demon skaters, including our very own Managing Director Craig Errey, who patiently attempted to transfer his skills to our less confident skaters.  General Manager James Breeze was surprisingly the most 'technically correct' in the rink, casually spraying up ice while the rest of us wobbled enviously.

Other highlights included team leader Cecilia stressfully imagining her colleagues cracking their skulls on the unforgiving surface, while at the same time, Marcus repeatedly told the rest of us that "if you haven't fallen over, you aren't trying hard enough!" after meeting the ice four times.  Vijay quickly learned that figuring out how to go was one thing, but stopping was a completely different ball game.  The most memorable event was Beata warning Erin, "Don't take me down with you!" moments before Erin caused a three-person pile up.

Many wet bottoms, grazed knees and freezing hands later; we gladly turned in our ice skates, grateful to be on land again.  "We don't like skating on thin ice," commented James Breeze, "being grounded is much more our style!"
