How to make your technology usable

Presented by Craig Errey of The Performance Technologies Group (PTG)

We all know the usability mantra - 'conduct usability testing often and as early as possible in the development lifecycle'. In practice, however, that can be costly and time consuming. How then do you economically ensure
that any technology about to be introduced is usable? While rapidly getting your requirements right is of prime importance, there is a lot more to the question of what actually makes something usable. In this interactive session you will hear real world, cutting edge insights on usable interface creation.

You will also gain an understanding of:

  • How to bridge the gap between requirements and design
  • A clear operational definition of usability
  • An unambiguous set of usability measurement criteria
  • How to use a systematic process to move from requirements to design
  • How to map user decision making processes and use this to design or test user interfaces
  • How to apply standard navigation patterns
  • How to design an intuitive search interface
